You may have heard recent industry news that Trajector Medical LLC has filed for bankruptcy and wondered, “What does this mean to me as a veteran?”
Trajector Medical began providing services to veterans in September 2014 under the name “Vet Comp & Pen Medical Consulting LLC,” later rebranding to “Trajector Medical” around October 2021. Trajector Medical is not a VA-accredited agency. They charged veterans excessive fees for assistance with their VA disability claims, including charging fees for preparing and filing applications for service connection of new conditions.
Understanding Claim Sharks and VA Disability Claims
In the veteran services community, these companies are often referred to as “Claim Sharks.” Claim Sharks are known to work in the gray areas of VA regulations, charging fees that exceed the amount allowed by the VA. They also bill for preparatory work on initial claims, which goes against VA regulations.
Most often, the work claim sharks do for veterans does not involve signing a 21-22a to create a formal relationship with the veteran before the VA. Therefore, the veteran is often on the hook if the VA finds a problem with the evidence Trajector gave the veteran to submit with their claim.
Trajector Medical Files for Bankruptcy
On July 23, 2026, Trajector Medical, along with 21 entities affiliated with their parent company Trajector Holdings LLC, filed for bankruptcy, leaving many veterans without any form of representation for cases that are active before the Veterans Administration and the Board of Veterans Appeals.
October 31, 2026: Deadline to File a Bankruptcy Claim
If you or a veteran you know paid for services from Trajector Medical LLC, you may be eligible to seek reimbursement of those fees, but you must act quickly!
The Bankruptcy Court recently granted an extension to veterans filing claims against Trajector Medical. These claims must be filed by October 31, 2026.
